"An evening in which revelers from all over Europe attend a Venetian party during Carnivale. The partygoers are invited by the host to represent the Humours (the range of human emotions and personalities) using musical material they know and love. Some of it is funny, some of it sad, some clever, some rude. This concert invokes the atmosphere of a late 16th century Venetian party filled with people competing with each other for fun. Music by Vecchi, Gabrieli, Monteverdi,Othmayr, Scheidt, Lassus, East, Dowland, Lejeune, Bataille and others.”
